Leadership: Francis Chiappa, Ph.D., a Clinical Psychologist with substantial experience facilitating and teaching group therapy.
Time: Every Wednesday, from 6:15 to 7:45 PM
Structure: Group therapy provides gradual but effective and thorough treatment for a variety of social and interpersonal problems. Depression and anxiety can also be effectively treated in group therapy. This in an ongoing therapy group and new members are added as space is available. Regular weekly attendance by all members is essential for individual progress and for the group's effectiveness. By joining the group, new members commit to attend for 12 consecutive weeks. Participation typically lasts at least a few months and perhaps much longer. Group size is limited to eight members, plus the therapist. To get the most out of the experience, members are encouraged to express their thoughts and feelings openly and freely as they occur in group.
Confidentiality: Members agree to protect each others anonymity and keep group discussions confidential, to enable open and honest discussion.
Fees: $40 per session. Health insurance may cover all or part of the cost. Members are responsible for any uninsured portion of the fees. Insurance will not pay for any session not actually attended.
