Licensed Independent Social Worker
Background: I received a Master of Science in Social Administration and I am licensed by the Ohio Counselor, Social Worker and Marriage & Family Therapist Board (lic. # I.2002115), supervised by Felicia Acton (Psy.D.). I’ve pursued my passion of assisting children and young adults manage and preserve their mental health in outpatient, school, community, and group settings.
In my practice, I strive to help children externalize their problems and develop emotional intelligence in fun and creative ways. Mindfulness and trauma-informed care are the foundations of my practice, as I believe these principles are essential building blocks in the development of empathic, resilient, and compassionate human beings. As an eclectic therapist, I select the appropriate framework and intervention that best suits your child. However, before any interventions take place, your child and I will work to develop a therapeutic alliance, setting the groundwork of treatment.
I believe in working within the family system and as a result, I engage parents in their child’s treatment, as appropriate. I primarily work with children age 5 and older and young adults ages 18-35. I also have experience counseling adults in inpatient and outpatient settings. Most of my experience has been in areas of anxiety, depression, adjustment disorders, ADHD, emotional intelligence and regulation, conflict resolution, and social skill development.
